For those seeking instruction in multimedia video production, a two-day introductory course in PremierePro gets the ball rolling; it is followed up by a three-day class in After Effects. DTP Akademie RheinMain also offers a workshop in using the latter program to create videos for social media. Another workshop takes students through every step of the video creation process with PremierePro and After Effects. Finally, for students seeking a longer course of study, DTP Akademie has a selection of extended classes, designed in conjunction with the IHK, largely for managers or those preparing to assume managerial roles. The topics of these seminars (each of which lasts a total of 80 hours) include Business Coach, Team and Project Manager, and ecommerce Manager. For those seeking diplomas such as Medienfachwirt or Industriemeister in Printmedien (roughly translatable as Bachelor-Professional in print media), the school has two-year part-time programs in both fields that are designed to be taken in conjunction with a regular work schedule. Once completed, these classes qualify graduates for taking on middle-management roles.

Class Formats

Classes are taught either live or online, although the live and online versions are separate and not given at the same time. Company training can also be arranged and scheduled either in-house or at DTP Akademie’s Löwenstraße location.

The extended-term IHK classes for managers are held at Landgasthof und Hotel Alte Bergmühle in Dreieich, about a 15-minute drive from downtown Offenbach.

Class size for the live classes is between two and six participants. The management seminars, on the other hand, are designed for between seven and fourteen students.

Written class materials are provided at the management seminars.

All in-person classes include lunch and break-time hot and cold beverages.

All graduates obtain a certificate attesting to their accomplishment at the end of each class.

Admissions Process

Admissions are open for all classes. There are, however, prerequisites for certain courses, and others are designed for managers and others with similar responsibilities in the workplace. All prerequisites are spelled out on the school’s website

Pricing & Payment Options

Detecting a pattern in the pricing of DTP Akademie RheinMain is difficult. Examples of pricing for the more popular courses would include €660 (approximately $665) for the introductions to InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. The advanced classes are priced at €760 (approximately $765), €720 ($725) and €720 respectively. The InDesign catalogs, brochures, and books one-day workshop is priced at €380 (roughly $385).

The Excel introductory class costs €560 (about $565), while the Modern Data Analysis with Power BI in Microsoft Excel class is €790 (roughly $795). The one-day introduction to Microsoft Word is priced at a modest €290 (approximately $292), while the combination class for trainees is €980 ($985) per participant.

The two-day introduction to PremierePro is €690, while the introduction to AfterEffects runs €1050 (roughly $1055). The concept and design of websites two-day class is priced at €660; the one-day responsive web design class is, on the other hand, €380. There does appear to be a touch of rhyme and reason to the pricing of the soft managerial skills: the two-day workshops are all priced at €998 (which is to say $1005).

Among the extended classes, the in-person business coach class is priced at €4970 (approximately $5000), while the two-year part-time Medienfachwirt and Industrie Meister courses are priced at €5808 ($5858, which may be paid over 20 months.) One should be aware that these classes are eligible for up to a 40% government subsidy in accordance with the Aufstiegsfortbildungsförderungsgesetz (Continuing Education Financing Act.)

If two classes are booked at the same time, or if more than two places are booked in the same class, the school extends a 5% discount.

Mehrwertsteuer is not included in any of the above prices. MwSt in Germany runs to 19%.

DTP Akademie RheinMain does not provide career support services. This applies to the longer classes as well as to the one- and two-day courses.
