How does this course prepare me for the job market?
The Bootcamp courses in Premiere Pro and After Effects teach software skills, and how to use these apps to create motion graphics based on designs provided for you. The Motion Graphics Portfolio Development course allows you to take what you’ve learned about After Effects and Premiere and create motion graphics based on your own designs. In the Portfolio course, you will create unique works to showcase in a video demo reel or website.
Are there prerequisites for this certificate program?
Basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator is required.
Basic knowledge of video timeline editing and basic design skills are helpful, but not required.
Is there mandatory work outside of the classroom?
Students are required to complete class projects outside of class hours for the Motion Graphics Portfolio Development class.
Students are not required to complete any work outside of class for the Premiere Pro and After Effects Bootcamps.
Additionally, students are encouraged to practice the skills learned in class and develop a portfolio of work.
How many students are in a class?
Noble’s typical class ranges from 8–12 students, but we accept up to 20 students.
How does the custom schedule work & what is the recommended class order?
We have scheduled the certificate classes in various tracks (day, night, or weekend) for your convenience, but you can customize your schedule.
When creating a custom schedule, you’ll be able to choose between the various available dates for each class in the certificate program. So if you can’t make a particular class, you can choose a different scheduled instance that works better for you. Please keep the following in mind when scheduling:
We highly recommend taking Premiere Pro before After Effects.
You must take Premiere Pro and After Effects before taking the Motion Graphics Portfolio Development class (because you’ll be using those apps in the portfolio development class).
Why is Premiere Pro included in the Motion Graphics Certificate?
Students with no prior knowledge of video editing or animation leave the Premiere Bootcamp very comfortable with working in timeline-based apps, as Premiere is a video and audio editing software. This knowledge of timeline-based video editing and video terminology helps students get familiar with Adobe After Effects more quickly. Plus, for larger motion graphics pieces, Premiere is often used to assemble individual shots created in After Effects, and it’s an ideal software for editing audio (music, voiceover and sound effects) to be used in motion graphics. In addition, Premiere Pro on its own can be used to create some forms of motion graphics such as simple title sequences, social media pieces, and stop-motion videos, all of which are explored in the Premiere Pro Bootcamp.
I’m not great with either Photoshop or Illustrator but I really like motion graphics. What should I do?
That’s OK! But we do suggest that you take both the Photoshop in a Day and Illustrator in a Day courses before taking the courses in the Motion Graphics Certificate. The Photoshop and Illustrator in a Day courses are designed to get you comfortable with all the basics of both apps, in a short amount of time, and together provide a great foundation for the Motion Graphics Certificate.
What happens if I need to miss a session?
You have some options:
If you can’t come into the classroom, but can still attend remotely (live online using a screen sharing app), please let us know ahead of time so we can get you information to attend online. This is not ideal for the Motion Graphics Portfolio Development class which have more in-person interaction, but works fine for the other classes.
You can make up that session in a future offering of the class, provided that the class is running with an available seat.
Except for the Motion Graphics Portfolio Development class, you can go through the workbook exercises for that session. Ask your instructor about what you’ll be missing.

Learn Motion Graphics & Create a Demo Reel
Motion graphics is the art of animating graphic design. Video editing is cutting together video clips and sound, to enhance the meaning of existing video, or to create new meaning. Together, they make a powerful skill-set that can take still images and illustrations to new levels of engagement for your audience.
Learn video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and motion graphics and visual effects with Adobe After Effects. You’ll gain a deep understanding of how these programs work together and alongside Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and workflow strategies for going from concept, to design, to completely animated motion graphics. Along the way, you’ll create projects that teach you After Effects and Premiere Pro, while mastering creative techniques in both motion graphics and special effects. Then you’ll work with your instructor on independent projects to showcase these newly developed skills, in the Portfolio Development course.
“I walked into the class as a motion graphics lost soul and left with the confidence that I can now tell people, ‘I know motion graphics.’”
“The best in-person, hands-on Creative app training I've found in 20+ years in the industry. You won't be disappointed.”

“After Effects Level 2 is a near perfect course. The marketing for it is on point; you touch on everything from animation to green screen removal to rotoscoping. Can’t think of another class that covers this much in such a short amount of time. Bravo Noble Desktop!”
“I think it’s great that they incorporate exercises during class time. It really helps you retain the lessons instead of just going through the motions during class and leaving with a manual to refer back to. This way you can hit the ground running as soon as you get back to the office.”
Marketing Communications Specialist, Federal Home Loan Bank of New York
“Noble Desktop is far and away the most efficient way of gaining computer graphics skills. They give real-world exercises to work on, teach best practices, and inspire many an ‘aha!’ moment. Highly recommended.” Joanne Hu
