  • Intro to After Effects

    In this seminar, students learn about the features of and uses for the Adobe After Effects visual effects program. The tutorial begins by orienting students to After Effects and how it differs from Adobe Premiere Pro, showing students professional examples of its real-world applications. Students discover how motion graphics designers and visual effects artists work with color, keyframes, and layers in their After Effects creations. By the end of the class, students will have an understanding as well of the role that motion tracking and video compositing play in successful visual effects and animations.

  • In this course, students advance from beginners to experts in video editing using Adobe Rush, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. Students gain experience on both the technical side of editing videos as well as the creative and narrative side to developing engaging video content. Students learn skills in color grading, audio editing and mixing, visual effects, Chroma Key, Rototools, stop-motion animation, and CGI. Throughout the course, students produce several video projects, including a video montage, promotional and commercial videos, a documentary, and a demo reel to share with employers. Graduates earn an Austin Peay State University continuing education certification, recognized by the global CPD Certification Service.

  • In this course, total beginners learn all the fundamental and advanced features of Adobe After Effects for motion design, animation, and digital visual effects.
