Hi, this is Margaret with Noble Desktop. Today we're looking at transcribing a sequence in Premiere Pro. The best new thing about Premiere Pro is the transcription feature. To access it, go to Window > Workspace > Captions. Then select 'Transcribe Sequence'. The settings are fine for this introduction and click 'Transcribe'.
The sequence is now being analyzed and subtitles are being created. It's usually quick, and the few errors are usually minor. Here are the subtitles in two big sections. If you want, you can change the caption preset to CEA 708 Default, which is very flexible. Streamline is fine. You can also change the minimum duration and the number of lines.
Now you can export the captions. Under Captions, you have the options to create a sidecar file or burn captions into the video. A sidecar file allows you to have them available for closed captioning on Vimeo or YouTube, while burning the captions into the video embeds them permanently.
I hope you've enjoyed this video on transcribing a sequence in Premiere Pro. This has been Margaret with Noble Desktop.
