Key Insights
- To create extra space between an image and the text, you can use the selection tool, click the top edge of the image and increase the distance until the desired spacing is achieved.
- Importing images into image frames requires selecting the frame, going to import file, and selecting the image. To fit the image into the frame, use the content-aware fit feature.
- To make images pop out more, a circle tool from the tool gallery can be utilized. The hex code of the circle’s color can be copied and pasted for color consistency when applied to other similar elements.

In this video we're going to be finishing up our second page and moving on to work on the third page. There's a couple last changes to our second page.
Let's first go into the page and for me, I have some lorem ipsum or placeholder text that's filled in right here, and I'm going to delete that extra line by unlocking the text layer and triple-clicking this line and utilizing the delete key. Next, I'll re-lock the text layer and we want to create a little bit extra space between this image and the text. To do this, we'll utilize our selection tool and then selecting the top image, let's increase the space.
We've already utilized text wrap. However, to increase the space beyond the edge of the image, we can simply click up and with it linked, we're going to increase the distance between the image and the text. Let's click up until we're at 0.125 inches and if we hit W on the keyboard, we can see what this looks like.
And I think that's an appropriate amount of space. Now, selecting the image below, let's do the same thing, clicking up to 0.125 and we'll see that our area around the image is now increased. Sometimes, it can be helpful to have different edges align differently and in this case, we can click the link and for example, if we want to decrease the bottom distance, we could drag up or down and have different edges pushing out in different directions for our text wrap.
Next, let's move on to our third page. We'll hit W on the keyboard again and let's change our perspective holding CTRL and scrolling down so we get a good view of page 3. The first thing we want to do according to our document is let's change this title, going to our text layer and unlocking the text layer and now triple-clicking the text. Let's change this to new to our team.
Let's now triple-click to highlight this whole line and going to our paragraph styles now, let's click the drop-down and we'll select heading. As we can see, this now matches the heading paragraph style we've already identified and we can now move on. We utilize our selection tool and let's now work on importing images into these three image frames.
We'll select the first one first and go to import file and from here, we're going to be selecting our three staff members. We'll start up top with staff number one and click open and then we'll fit this image right-clicking and going to fitting and let's do content-aware fit. This looks good.
So let's move on to our second image here. We'll go to import file and again, we'll import our second staff member. Right-click and we'll content-aware fit and I'm not sure that I like how it fit it specifically.
So let's select the center circle and holding shift and dragging out. We're going to zoom in a bit and we'll center him right here and I think that looks pretty consistent between the two. For a third image frame now, let's again import our file and import staff number three and click open.
We'll then right-click and again content-aware fit. Looking at the other two images, there's a little space between the top and their head. If we hit A on the keyboard and select this image, we'll see we don't actually have any space to move the image up.
And in this case, this is probably as close as we can get it to looking like the other two images. We need to work with what we have. We'll click outside, and now we have our three individual staff members.
If we hit W on the keyboard, you can see what this looks like. And I think we want these to pop a little more off the page. To do this, let's add a circle behind them.
We'll go to our left toolbar and we're going to be choosing our ellipse tool found in the tool gallery with our rectangle tool and polygon tool. From here, for our fill, let's go to CC Libraries and we're going to be selecting Doma Screen by double-clicking it and we can double-click the hex code and hit CTRL C and click OK. And for our fill now, let's double-click and paste the hex code, hitting CTRL V and clicking OK.
We're now ready to create our circle. Let's start by drawing it right at the top here. In the corner, and if we hold shift, we'll actually match the same exact size as our image.
We'll release. And now we have our green circle in front of our image. In this case, we can resize it, hitting V on the keyboard and dragging out, holding shift and holding ALT to drag out from the center.
We'll then release when it's just a little larger, right about here. And let's now send it to the bottom of our layer, hitting CTRL-shift, open bracket. If we hit W on the keyboard, we can see a preview, and I think this helps the image to stand out a bit more.
We'll hit W again. We now need to add these circles behind our other staff members. So, let's hold ALT on the keyboard.
Let's drag this circle right below and release when it's centered. And we'll do this one more time for our bottom staff member. Now that we have the circles here, let's now group them so that we can realign.
We'll select both the photo and, while holding SHIFT, select the circle on the outside. We'll then right-click and go to group. We'll do the same thing with our other staff members, selecting the image and the ellipse, right-click and select group, and again, holding SHIFT and selecting both, we'll select group.
From here, let's now realign them. First, dragging this bottom group right into the corner, so it's at the corner of the margins, and now dragging this top one, set again, it's right in the corner there. We can then drag him just to the right, so again, it's on the left side of the margin.
From here, we need to now space them out appropriately, so we'll select all three, holding SHIFT, and going to the top, we can elect to distribute vertical centers. We'll click, and we now have these perfectly aligned. From here, let's now hit CTRL S on our keyboard to save our work, and in the next video, we're going to begin stylizing the text for each of our team members.
See you there!
