Learn UX and UI Design for Apps and Websites
Learn how to create user-friendly, engaging apps and websites in this hands-on summer program in NYC. This program breaks down the essential skills for effective UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) design. With the help of Figma, a free prototyping app, you’ll create clickable product designs and test them with real users.
The class begins with an introduction to UI (User Interface) design, where you’ll explore the shared visual language and standard patterns used in app and website interfaces. You’ll then apply your new skills by designing your own user interfaces in Figma. Next, the class dives into UX (User Experience) design concepts, where you’ll create user personas, scenarios, and journey maps during the planning phase of your project. You’ll apply this knowledge by building clickable prototypes in Figma and refining them through user testing to ensure a user-friendly experience.
Throughout the course, your instructor will introduce key topics relevant to anyone considering a future in design. You’ll learn about creative briefs, design workflows, portfolio development, and more. By the end of the course, you’ll have portfolio-ready projects that showcase your new skills and a solid understanding of UX and UI design.
