The most common certificates available are CAPM and PMP certifications. The CAPM certificate requires a high school diploma or an associate’s degree, plus 23 hours of training in project management. The CAPM will get your foot in the door, but to establish a career in project management, the PMP certification is the way to go. The PMP level requires a four-year degree and a CAPM or 60 months as a project leader and 35 months as a manager. In addition to these certificates, you can specialize in disciplines such as construction, manufacturing, healthcare, or technology.

Many tech companies like Hootsuite, Salesforce, and Slack have a presence in Vancouver, and project managers can expect to earn between $65,000 and $90,000 a year. The classes are live, just like in-person instruction, but you can complete courses from your home or office. Study the same material with no commute!
