Decorative Fonts Are Characterized by Their Unique Looks and Stylization. They Are Used Largely to Lend an Essence, Feeling, or Visual Message for Specialty Items Including Headings and Hero Art. Found in Custom Logo Work, Package Design, and As Flourishes to Editorial Stories, Well-used, Decorative Fonts Can Create an Atmosphere in an Instant and Can Be Great Additions Include to Your Design Work.
The first example is a handful of frames from the opening title sequence of the film Catch me if you can. Using a customized version of Neue Haas Grotesk throughout the animation, the descenders and ascenders of the type extend to create walls and partitions that the animated characters dart around playing a hide-and-seek game. It is super clever and fun to watch!
This beautiful YouTube Screen for Ambient Music Space Radio uses the Metaluna Thin font to evoke a futuristic and spacious feeling. There is a subtlety to the glow of the typography, along with the arrangement of the slide’s illustration that lets us almost hear the music through the design.
Dunkin Donuts features Frankfurter Std Normal as the decorative typeface for its smartphone app. This typography design has become a well-known and recognizable element that stands as equity for the brand with its distinctive rounded doughnutty look and feel. The font is friendly, soft, sweet, and fun. It is an absolute American favorite, and a classic.
Big, bold, and wild the Marvel Comics Covers represented in this collection of Marvel covers are about larger-than-life superheroes and villains. Each uses a variety of typefaces that have been fashioned into powerful and unique treatments for the mastheads of distinctive comic books.
