Refining Building Elements and Adding Windows: A Step-by-Step Guide

Optimizing Curtain Wall Design and Window Placement for Efficient Modeling.

Delve deeper into the intricacies of building modeling, focusing on refining elements and adding window pieces on the second floor. The article discusses the process of modifying the parameters of a storefront to achieve the desired project outcome.

Key Insights

  • The article explores the next stage of building modeling where the focus shifts to refining existing elements and adding new components, such as window pieces on the second floor.
  • An in-depth walkthrough is provided on how to handle curtain walls and the modification of storefront parameters to achieve a specific project result.
  • Efficiency is emphasized, with the aim to make as few changes as possible to obtain the desired look, allowing the computer to handle the majority of decision-making regarding the placement of mullions on large curtain walls, particularly on level one.

Note: These materials offer prospective students a preview of how our classes are structured. Students enrolled in this course will receive access to the full set of materials, including video lectures, project-based assignments, and instructor feedback.

Now that we have the majority of the building modeled, what we're going to do is we're going to shift gears and start refining some of these elements and then we're going to add our window pieces on the Second Floor. So you can see we do have quite a bit of work left to do on Level Two and then you can see there's some work that needs to be done with these Curtain Walls here because we aren't going to have this Header Mullion here at that height. We're going to mess with the parameters of the Storefront here to work with what we want for the project.

And so the next few videos what we're going to do is we're going to go in and we're going to change these settings in a way that's going to allow us to do as little work as possible to get the look that we want. And what I'm saying by that is we're going to let the computer handle a lot of the decisions as of where each one of these mullions are going to go on these large banks of Curtain Wall that we have across specifically Level One here.
