Creating Architectural Elements: Walls, Roof, and Ceilings in 3D Design

Breaking Down the Creation of Architectural Elements in 3D Design: Walls, Roofs, and Ceilings

Discover the process of creating a complex architectural model, breaking down the creation of walls, layouts, roof elements, and detailed interior features. This in-depth exploration provides a comprehensive view of creating custom elements, from curtain walls to custom light fixtures, and more.

Key Insights

  • The step-by-step process includes creating the walls and the layout, which are the basics for curtain walls and other elements.
  • The model features a range of roof elements, including a canopy piece and a sloped roof, as well as a detailed interior ceiling with custom light fixtures.
  • The interior of the model also includes a stair and a custom glass railing, highlighting the model's complexity and attention to detail.

Note: These materials offer prospective students a preview of how our classes are structured. Students enrolled in this course will receive access to the full set of materials, including video lectures, project-based assignments, and instructor feedback.

The next series of videos that we're going to create is going to focus on the creation of what you see here. We're going to break it down into a few different parts, which will be creating the walls and the layout, which will include the basics for our curtain wall and these guys here. And then we're going to do the roof elements, and you'll see we've got this canopy piece, which is broken down into two different materials.

And we have this sloped roof on top. And then as we look inside, we also have a ceiling element that we're going to be working on as well. And when we go into some of these interior views, you can see we also have this detailed ceiling with some custom light fixtures, a stair that we're just going to play around with and see what we can come up with, and a custom glass railing as well.

So that's going to be the focus for our next few videos. And we're going to start out with the layout, which is going to involve creating all of these wall elements here.
