Welcome back to the CAD Teacher VDCI video course content for the BIM 322 course. In the previous video, we went ahead and finished up getting our lighting tags in for the actual lighting fixtures, and let's go ahead and actually—we want to change the actual line style of the wires. The solid lines tend to make it pretty hard to read, and sometimes a lot of firms don't tend to use just solid lines for their wiring.
So what we're going to do is, we're going to change this setting globally, and this will be a very short video. So what I'm going to do is, I'm going to go to—if you're in your Systems tab—go ahead and go over to your Manage tab, please. And what I want to do is, I want to go to Object Styles here. I'm going to scroll down until I find Wires, and as you can see, if you expand it out, we can have Home Run Arrows, Wire Tick Marks, so on and so forth.
What we're going to go ahead and do is, I'm going to change this from Solid, and I'm going to go ahead and change it to Dash Dot 1/8". Again, I'm changing it from Solid to Dash Dot 1/8", and hit Apply. And as you can see, if you can see in your background, you'll see the different wires and how they change their actual specific line types.
One other thing we want to do is, let's go ahead and make these a little bit lighter. So go ahead—under the Line Weight—go ahead and change that to a number 2. Hit OK, and as you can see, the lines got a little bit less bold, and they're also that Dash Dot line type.
I'm going to go ahead and Zoom Extents, Control-S, save the file, and we're there with that. Very simple, very easy to do. One thing I'd like you to do before we continue on to the second floor: please check your tags, please check your wires, and please just make sure things are looking good.

As you can see here, I had just one little one that I had not adjusted quite yet, so quickly adjust that. So please just double-check your work—it's always a good thing to do that regardless. And what I'd like to go ahead and do is, we'll go ahead and do the same thing for the second floor lighting plan.
