Welcome back to the CAD Teacher VDCI video course content for the BIM 322 course. In the previous video, we went ahead and actually finished up tagging this entire first floor Mechanical plan with all the different tags that we needed. And what I'm going to go ahead and do now is I want to go ahead and actually save the file. If you haven't already, please make sure that you save often and save consistently.
And what I want to do is I want to go ahead and jump up to the sheet view Level 2 Mechanical. So I'm going to go ahead into my project browser here, double-click on Sheet View-2-Mech, and bring this guy up. Now obviously, nothing here is tagged.
And the way that we're going to tag this one is actually going to go ahead and tag it the same exact way. So to tag the actual air diffusers or the actual air grilles, I'm going to use Tag All. So I'm going to go to Tag All, up in the Annotate tab here, and click to activate it.
I want to choose air terminal tags, CFM callout, diffuser tag. I also want to go ahead and have a leader. So I'm going to go ahead and make sure that the leader checkbox is selected.
I'm going to hit Apply. I'm going to hit OK. And as you can see, those tags have been populated into the model.
Now what I want to go ahead and do is I want to start tagging individual duct pieces. So I'm going to go to Tag by Category. Again, the reason why we're not using Tag All for the ducts is because it would actually tag every single piece of duct.
We don't really need to tag every single piece of duct because a lot of these ducts bend and turn, but they are the same consistent size. We don't want to use Tag All. We just want to go ahead and use Tag by Category and selectively apply the exact tags in the exact locations where we want to give them.
So I'm going to go ahead and Tag by Category. And I'm going to go ahead and start in this office room up here. I'm going to go ahead and zoom in.
And I'm going to go ahead and just start tagging around. Now yes, we could always go and adjust these things right now—these different tags. The only problem with that is that I want to go ahead and get all my tags in before I start adjusting them, just so that I know exactly what I'm going to be working with when I need to adjust all these tags.
So go ahead, go through the project, and just keep continuing to tag everything. I'm going to go ahead and pause the video now, and then I'll come back after I finish tagging everything, and we'll go through and do some adjustments. See you then.
We're back, and we do have all of our tags now placed into the actual drawing here. Now let's go ahead and start adjusting some of these. I'm still in this Tag command, so I'm going to hit Escape twice.
I'm again going to start up in this corner up here. And again, I'm just going to do the same exact process that we did on the first floor plan, and I'm just going to go ahead and start adjusting some of these tags. I'm placing them where I want them.
And go ahead and start adjusting your own. Adjust them so that they are clear and readable. Go ahead and adjust them so that they are clear and readable, so we can present the information in a very clear and concise manner to the guys in the field, so that we don't have any problems installing any of this stuff.
That's the main reason why we want to go back and organize these tags is so that they're easy to read in the field. So what I'm going to go ahead and do is I'm just going to go ahead and pause the video, and then I'm going to go ahead and finish adjusting the rest of my tags. Please go ahead and finish adjusting the rest of your tags, and I'll see you when we come back. Well, now we've got all of our tags adjusted and ready to go, and everything's looking good, clean and ready for the actual sheet views.
There's a couple more things we need to do specifically with the mechanical plans, and how we start to delineate other information, and we're going to go ahead and start that up in the next video. See you there.
