Explore an in-depth examination of a tagging process in design where air terminals are identified and organized. Gain insights on how to manage, add or remove hosts, and understand how to balance tag overlapping issues and efficiently deal with any shortcomings that may arise.
Key Insights
- The tagging system allows for the selective identification of air terminals in a design project, allowing for more organized and efficient management.
- Adding or removing hosts is a common part of the process, which allows for better customization and adjustment of the design as per the project needs.
- It's crucial to manage and balance tag overlapping and other issues elegantly, to avoid any complications in the design process and to maintain a clean and comprehensible design structure.

Let's see tag I got, and you can see I tagged all my air terminals here. So in this instance, I may not want to do this entire string. I may want to remove maybe a couple there.
We'll do one on each end. So then I can go add or remove host, pick, pick, pick. We'll come here, add or remove host, pick, pick.
There we go. I try to limit the length of the leader lines just a little bit. I don't want them to be too overly long.
But I know as we said that we were going to tag this in the other view. That's fine. We can tag it here.
Let's pull this out farther. Sometimes those leaders don't necessarily want to work how we expect them to. Add or remove host.
So I'd rather add or remove this host here. This is our ducted return system. Again, I probably want to pull this space line out here just to get it out of the room.
It makes it a little bit nicer. And again, even though, yes, these are on the callout view, I'm not going to worry about breaking that edge of that callout view or anything. So in this instance, I might go add or remove host, pick that one.
Let's go ahead and delete that guy because this library is the same. It's the same diffuser between these two rooms here. Add or remove host.
There we go. And I'm going to grab some of these room tags here. I'm just going to move them out.
Again, it's just a giant big balancing act that you kind of have to just go through. There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It's just kind of the way that it goes sometimes.
So let's see here. I want to get rid of that. Get rid of that.
Bring this guy here. Add or remove host. Go.
Add or remove host. Boom. Maybe shift this guy over a little bit.
I bring this guy back down. Again, it's just a giant balancing act. Oh, we have more.
There's some overlap here. You want to be careful of the overlap between the different tags. That can get really nasty.
And obviously, yes, you do want to have everything tagged as much as humanly possible. But sometimes, in certain instances, items don't get tagged. People would be able to tell, like, hey, yeah, this is a C. This is a C. But I could just do this.
Add or remove host. And now I can add those to that. And there we go.
I may say, like, hey, I'm going to move this A out here and have it come off into this. That. Same thing.
Add or remove host. Boom. I'm going to pull this guy up here.
There we go. And more tags. More tags.
This is just kind of the nature of the beast sometimes. You're just going to have to go through and work through it. So I might just kind of let you tag in peace, you know, keep talking here and there, checking in on you.
But go ahead and continue to keep tagging. And we'll keep working through this. And we're going to go to the other views and go ahead and do that same thing soon.
So you can see here I'm getting kind of wild. Let's do this. Add or remove host.
Boom. There we go. Ta-da.
Move that extra one. I could do add or remove host there. Boom.
Working through. Okay. I'm going to go ahead and clean this up offline.
But go ahead, continue to tag, continue to get things squared away. Go ahead and work through that. I accidentally clicked into the tag.
If you accidentally click into the tag, just hit close. Don't worry about saving or anything. We already did our change to make it the type parameter.
If you do accidentally click into that tag, you know, make sure that you go ahead. I think maybe these leaders got reset when I turned on and off the leaders. So I'm actually having to go back and redo work now, which is obviously never a good thing.
You know, it's a very quick process. But if you recall, when I selected all these, selected all instances visible in view, and I unchecked leader here and I checked it over again a couple of times, it reset my leaders. So you don't really want to do that.
I'm going to stop this video here, and we'll see you in the next one.
