Optimizing Sprinkler Placement in Office Building: A Step-by-Step Guide

Ensuring Correct Hosting and Placement of Sprinklers in Various Rooms of an Office Building

Discover the meticulous process of creating and positioning sprinklers in various rooms using a specified software. The step-by-step instructions cover a range of rooms including the reception, counselor room, resource room, work room, and a small toilet area.

Key Insights

  • The process includes copying selections, moving certain elements by specified feet, and ensuring elements are correctly hosted to level 2. This is repeated in the reception room, counselor room, resource room and work room.
  • Attention to detail is vital in the process. Users are encouraged to double check their work, filter and get rid of dimensions, and ensure sprinklers are properly hosted.
  • The approach changes slightly when dealing with a small room such as a toilet. In such a case, only one sprinkler is needed, typically positioned in the center of the room, unless other elements such as lights or a diffuser are present in the ceiling.

Okay, let's continue. Let's pan over to this area. We'll start at the reception room.

Let's copy selection and move these 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 feet. Make sure we are hosted correctly. We are on level 2. Did we host those sprinklers in this area here? Let's double check.

It's always good to double check. Filter. Get rid of dimensions.

Sprinklers. Yes, we are hosted. Okay, let's go back here.

Let's go to counselor room. We can go to create similar and we'll put one. Make sure we're on the intersection.

Now we are hosted to the ceiling. Let's go to the move tool. Up 1. Enter.

Over 1. And copy selection. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 feet. And make sure this is hosted to level 2. Okay, let's go to the resource room.

Create similar. We'll find the intersection here. Select.

Move to the left 1 foot. Enter. Move up 1 foot.

And we'll copy this down. Let's start with 12 feet. How is our spacing to there? We're looking to be okay, but to be safe, let's move another 2 feet.

And again, since we copied it, we need to make sure that we are hosting to level 2. Okay, let's do the work room and this toilet here. So since we're using the ceiling tiles here, we'll use our semi-recessed sprinklers. Create similar.

Let's put one at this intersection. We'll move 1 foot. Enter.

And move up 1 foot. We will copy this one. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 feet.

We will copy these over. Let's go 14 feet. That looks good.

Make sure they are all hosted to the ceiling. We'll select all of them and choose level 2. Okay, let's do the toilet here. This is a gyp board ceiling area, so let's find our concealed sprinkler.

Create similar. Okay, now since this is such a small room, we're only going to need one sprinkler. Generally, we'll try to move in the center of the room.

There's no reason to have in one of the corners here unless there ends up being something else in the ceiling like a light or a diffuser, which we don't see in our model right now. So for now, we'll just put it somewhere in the middle, about here, and it's hosted to level 2.
