Learn how to create and implement site plan keynotes in a step-by-step manner. This article provides a thorough guide to drafting site plan keynotes, from saving your floor plan keynotes to inserting them into your AS100 sheet.
Key Insights
- The process begins with opening the floor plan keynotes file and saving it as a new file labelled 'site plan keynotes'.
- Key elements of the site plan include 'Sidewalk and Curb', 'Street, Centerline', 'Driveway', 'Future Garden', and 'Future Lawn Area'. These labels can be added by typing them into the text editor, and then saved and closed.
- Once the site plan keynotes are finalized, they can be inserted into the AS100 sheet via the Insert tab and saved in the file.

I would like to spend a few minutes now working on our site plan keynotes, so let's all go File, Open. And what we're going to be opening will be our floor plan keynotes, which is the one that we already have. And let's go File, Save As, and let's save this as our site plan keynotes.
We're going to be keeping our site plan keynotes very simple. I'm going to double click on Floor Plan. Select the words Floor Plan.
Type in Site Plan. And close the text editor. Zoom into the actual contents.
I will deselect all of this. And I will type the words Sidewalk and Curb. Enter, Enter.
Street, Centerline. Enter, Enter. Driveway.
Enter, Enter. Future Garden. Enter, Enter.
And also Future Lawn Area. And close the text editor. I'm going to erase out these guys here.
I will then copy, CP for Copy, this guy from the top to the bottom, to the bottom, to the bottom. Escape. Double click here.
Make this a 3. Double click here. Make it a 4. Double click here. Make it a 5. OK.
Zoom Extents. Save the file. Close the file.
I'm now back in our AS100. I will go to Insert tab, Reference Attach, and I will attach in our site plan notes. Specify insertion point on screen as an attachment.
Go OK. Pop it in at the end up here. And CTRL S to save.
And now we've brought our site plan keynotes into our AS100 sheet.
