Brooklyn Comedy Collective

This one-day improv course offered in New York City is designed to introduce participants to the basics of improv comedy performance. Participants will learn how to develop characters, scenes, and story arcs as well as how to build trust and support each other on stage. The course also covers the use of improv games and activities to create comedic moments.

Participants in this course will experience the principles of improvised theatre and apply them to the creative process. They will learn how to build a scene, incorporate short-form game techniques, heighten scenes through suggestion and emotion, and develop a more self-aware presence onstage. With instructor feedback, participants will gain the skills to create something special from nothing.

This advanced improv course provides participants the opportunity to hone their scene skills and perform skits with high-level energy. Through exercises and advanced scene work practice, participants will sharpen their skills in working off their partners and creating story arcs at the moment.

This NYC Sketch and Improv Level 1 course gives participants an introduction to improvisational comedy techniques. Participants will learn to create characters and scenes, as well as how to effectively collaborate and perform with a group. Note-taking skills will also be developed to allow for a better understanding of the content.

This summer improv intensive is a four-day course designed to help students find and explore their comedic voice. Participants will practice improvisational skills such as listening, commitment, trust, and ensemble playing, and step out of their comfort zone to explore humor in surprising and exciting ways. This workshop offers an opportunity to discover newfound confidence on the stage and in life.

This online class provides an avenue for participants to engage with a fun and supportive community while sharpening their improvisational skills. Ideal for both beginners and seasoned performers, this program encourages spontaneity and creativity. In addition, it fosters an environment where students can play games and build scenes in a casual, drop-in format.
