This course will teach participants how to use simple printing tools to make fabric yardage prints. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the block printing process, including how to make an image, transfer it to the block, and use the block for printing. They will also get to create unique designs and print their own fabric yardage.

Learn the art of stitching, resist, and shibori dyeing in this hands-on course! Participants will gain knowledge of the necessary tools and techniques needed for this creative form of textile art and will have plenty of opportunities to practice their skills. All supplies are included.

This extended block printing class teaches students how to create printed designs on various fabrics. Participants will learn how to transfer designs to block printing surfaces, ink, and carve individual blocks. Throughout the class, you will be able to experiment with different setups and colors to develop your own special printed fabrics.

This beginner-level course provides a comprehensive introduction to the art of shibori dyeing techniques, using traditional indigo materials. Participants will gain the skills to work with various shibori patterns, stitching, resist dyeing, and finishing techniques. Through hands-on instruction, they will gain an understanding of the basic principles of this traditional Japanese textile art form.

In this creative class, participants will learn the fundamentals of bundle dyeing with natural materials such as flowers, herbs, fruits, vegetables, and rust. Through expert instruction, students will explore and gain a better understanding of the varied approaches used when dyeing natural materials. Participants will also experiment with the colors and textures created from these items.

This course offers an opportunity to explore all-natural dyeing techniques. Participants will discover how to create hues and patterns with plants and flowers, as well as learn the basics of mordanting, dyeing, and color blending. With instruction and guidance, art enthusiasts of all levels will gain the skills and knowledge to continue creating vibrant textiles at home.

In this course, participants will explore the traditional Japanese art of shibori by learning to dye and manipulate textiles and fabric. They will gain insight into dyeing fundamentals, explore a variety of tying, wrapping, and stitching techniques, and explore a variety of Indigo and other resists. At the end of the course, participants will have a unique hand-dyed and sewn textile piece.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the fascinating world of indigo dye, learning from its history to contemporary applications. The course provides an excellent opportunity to make and apply your indigo dye, with guidance on methods, techniques, and best practices to achieve the perfect indigo hue on fabric. A deep dive into the rich culture and craft of indigo dyeing, this workshop accommodates beginners to experts alike.

In this interactive workshop, participants will gain hands-on experience in the art of Itajime Shibori, a traditional Japanese method of dyeing textiles through pressure and resist techniques. Students will learn how to manipulate fabric through folding, clamping, and immersing it in indigo dye to create a range of geometric patterns and motifs. This course runs for three hours, with all materials provided, suitable for beginners as well as those with some background in textile arts.
