Sew Design Studio

This sewing course is designed for participants of all skill levels to come together in an open studio and learn various textile techniques that can be used to create unique projects. Participants will be able to choose individual supplies from the studio store and develop new skills with the guidance of an experienced instructor.

Through this class, participants will learn different techniques and skills while working independently on their projects in a supportive and friendly sewing studio. Instructors will be available to answer questions and offer guidance as students apply their newly acquired skills.

Learn the basics of Serger sewing in this introductory workshop. You'll gain confidence in controlling the machine, learn to create the overlock stitch, and get information on basic maintenance of the machine. Additionally, you'll get hands-on practice sewing interesting projects like pouches and bags.

This intermediate-level sewing course in Chicago is designed to deepen the participants' understanding of sewing techniques and elevate their skills. Students learn pattern alterations, buttonholes, inserting zippers, and applying pockets under the guidance of experienced instructors. The curriculum is designed to enable participants to work more independently on their projects.

Participants in this class will learn the basic techniques, skills, and tools necessary for creating pull-on pants from start to finish. This is an ideal course for beginners interested in sewing; participants will be guided on how to use a sewing machine, read patterns, and complete simple stitching techniques. Upon completion, participants will have a pair of pull-on pants they created.

This workshop provides a comprehensive guide on how to duplicate ready-to-wear garments. Participants will learn to create a paper pattern from an existing garment without deconstructing it. The course covers essential skills such as understanding the grain of fabric, pattern drafting, and accurately reproducing details like seaming and trims.
