This three-day intensive course teaches participants the skills needed for jewelry and metalsmithing. Throughout this class, students learn about forging, soldering, and welding, and will gain experience using tools such as hammers, saws, and torches. The course also introduces participants to texturing, patinas, and riveting with a focus on creating custom textures.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of metalwork and jewelry making, offering an overview of basic forming, soldering, polishing, and finishing techniques. The class covers both the theoretical and practical components of jewelry making and serves as an excellent foundational experience for more advanced classes. Students enrolled in the class will have the opportunity to craft custom pieces of jewelry to take home.

With an emphasis on soldering techniques, participants will learn to craft and work with jewelry in Metals II. This eight-week course will provide participants with the required materials and equipment to construct a range of works from soldering to casting and cold connections. They will also gain valuable insight into the design process and discover new ways to explore their style with this ancient and complex craft.
