This introductory workshop offers a practical overview of modern project management, focusing on the full project lifecycle with deeper exploration of the Initiation and Planning phases. You’ll learn how to identify and select projects, draft project charters and scope documents, and use diagrams, charts, and planning tools to manage timelines, resources, and risk. Along the way, you’ll build a working understanding of key concepts such as float, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.

The course concludes with a look at what makes an effective project manager, including essential skills, delegation strategies, and approaches to managing change. You’ll also receive a brief orientation to project management software, associations, and certifications, plus a detailed slide deck with exercises—making this workshop ideal for anyone seeking a practical introduction or refresher on core project management theories and methods.
