# Knowledge-Base Chatbot (Self-Paced) Canonical URL: ## Overview A project-based, self-paced course where you direct an AI coding agent to build one real application, from a first working chat endpoint to a live deployment: a chatbot that answers questions from one company's own documents and refuses to wander off topic. You pick a case study (three starter kits are provided, or bring your own documents), learn what a chatbot application is made of, and have your agent scaffold the front end, server, model connection, and database. From there you ground the bot in the company's documents, add authenticated users with persisted chat history, improve retrieval with chunking, embeddings, and vector search that cites its sources, and design guardrails that keep it on topic. You add an escalation path that notifies a human reviewer by email and gives them a dashboard to resolve from, build an evaluation set you can rerun to catch regressions, compare models on speed and cost, and deploy the finished chatbot to a live URL.
