Canonical URL: <https://www.nobledesktop.com/classes/civil-3d-bootcamp>

## Overview

This hands-on Civil 3D bootcamp is built for professionals working in surveying, transportation design, and land development who are ready to take their skills to an advanced level. You'll gain practical experience with the tools that matter most on real projects, including alignments, profiles, parcels, corridors, grading groups, and pipe networks, all with an eye toward producing construction-ready documentation.

Over the course of the bootcamp, you'll learn how to create and manage survey points, parcels, and surface data, develop corridor models for road design, and subdivide land using Civil 3D's labeling and geometry tools. You'll also design and annotate grading groups, pipe networks, and pressure systems, and build out customized templates, label styles, and construction documents. It's a comprehensive, project-focused training that gives you the advanced Civil 3D fluency needed to handle complex, professional-grade work with confidence.

## What you'll learn

- Organize and manage survey data by creating COGO points, point groups, and description key sets, and importing survey files for accurate field-to-finish workflows
- Design and label land parcels with tools for subdivision, site creation, parcel styles, and annotation techniques used in professional land development projects
- Model terrain using TIN surfaces, perform surface analysis, and apply surface labels to support grading and site planning decisions
- Create road alignments and profiles, including existing and proposed surface profiles, with customizable view windows and station labeling
- Build corridor models and intersections using assemblies and subassemblies, generate sample lines, and visualize roadway design with 3D drive-throughs
- Develop grading plans and pipe networks, including feature lines, grading groups, and pressure systems, while customizing styles and layout sheets for construction documents

## Prerequisites

To be fully prepared for this course, you should have a fundamental understanding of AutoCAD, equivalent to [AutoCAD Level I](https://www.nobledesktop.com/classes/autocad-level-1).
