Coderhouse describes itself as Argentina’s first “digital school,” combining web development training with education in other major skills for success in the digital economy. Christian Patiño and Pablo Ferreiro, tech industry professionals and high-school friends, started the school in 2014 in Buenos Aires. The school maintains locations as well in Santiago de Chile in Chile and Montevideo in Uruguay, with plans to expand.

What Classes Are Available?

Students at Coderhouse can take individual classes to learn discrete digital skills, or take clusters of classes together in career tracks designed to launch graduates into jobs in the tech industry. With courses like Web Development, JavaScript, React JS, Vue Js, Angular, Back End Programming, Application Development, Python, Video Game Development, SQL, and Testing QA Manual, students can prepare for careers in Front End React Development, Angular Front End Development, Front End Vue Development, Back End Development, Full Stack Development, or Application Development.

Students who study in the Data Analytics, Data Science, and Tableau courses develop skills for a Data Scientist career. In the UX/UI Design, Advanced UX/UI Design, UX Writing, UX Research, Fundamentals of Graphic Design, Prototyping, Motion Graphics, UI, and Animation courses, students can apply their new skills toward careers in UX/UI Design or Development, UX Writing Design, and UX Research Design. The Product Management, E-Commerce, Agile (Scrum), and Customer Experience (CX) courses help students seeking Product careers. Class Formats

While Coderhouse maintains in-person campuses across South America, all of its courses are available live online on a part-time schedule. All courses are taught through twice-weekly live online meetings with the full class. The length of time necessary to complete a career track varies, from 14 weeks for the Product track to 49 weeks for the Full Stack Web Development track. Each Coderhouse student is assigned a personal tutor, whom students can consult outside of class time for help with assignments and support on final projects. The Coderhouse curriculum is project-oriented to help students prepare for real-world work as tech professionals. Classes are taught in Spanish.

Admissions Process

Coderhouse operates on an open-enrollment model, allowing any student to register for any class. Anyone can register under the CoderBeca scholarship program as well, as long as they commit to meeting the scholarship requirements. If students decide that their skill set does not match the course they have registered for, they can disenroll within the first two classes for a full refund.

Pricing & Payment Options

Individual classes at Coderhouse start at a base price of US $400, with most classes in the US $500-800 base tuition range, depending on the length and subject of the course. The base price of a full career track also depends on the track, ranging from $1,600 for the Product track to $4,000 for the Full Stack Web Developer track. However, the CoderBeca scholarship program, which is available to all committed students, significantly discounts the cost of tuition, slashing prices by 70% for students who turn in completed work on time and show up to 85% of the live classes.

Career Support Services

All courses at Coderhouse are career-oriented and teach practical skills through applied activities and projects. Top performing students also have access to paid freelance work with Coderhouse’s partners. More intensive career support is an add-on service offered à la carte. Students can pay $16-44 for job application coaching, interview preparation, English support services, and the creation of personal websites, brands, marketing plans, and small-business plans.

Coderhouse does not publicly report student outcomes from their courses or career tracks. The school does maintain a public archive of major student projects created in class for future students and prospective employers to browse.
