## Overview

In this certification program, you’ll learn to write SQL queries, extract and analyze data, and generate insights from relational databases. This hands-on training uses PostgreSQL and the DBeaver app, but the skills apply to other platforms like SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle SQL.

**This program includes:**

- Our SQL Bootcamp (18 hours total)
- Six (6) hours of private tutoring (two 3-hour sessions)
- The [Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate exam,](/exams/oracle-database-sql-certified-associate-exam) with a free retake included
- Guidance on PostgreSQL-to-Oracle differences during private training
- Access to additional study materials for exam preparation
- Option to replace the exam with one additional hour of private tutoring

_Please note that this course teaches PostgreSQL, which is similar to Oracle SQL. Differences can be reviewed during the private training sessions to help you prepare for the certification exam._

## What you'll learn

- Explore information stored in a database (tables, columns, rows, and more) using the graphical interface of DBeaver (a popular free database app)
- Write SQL queries to retrieve data from tables in a database
- Combine information from multiple tables with JOIN statements
- Filter data, group it, and sort it to extract the specific information you need
- Advanced techniques such as subqueries, string functions, and IF‑ELSE logic with CASE
- Learn how to use views and functions with parameters instead of directly querying tables

Yes, this course is open to beginners. Students must be comfortable using a computer. No other prior knowledge is required.

Yes. This course is available online. See the course description and enrollment options for the training format and schedule. How do live-online sessions work? For live-online sessions, you attend at the scheduled class times (New York, Eastern Time). Attend remotely through Zoom with a live instructor. ### What happens if I need to miss a session?
