With over 6 years of teaching, curriculum, and leadership experience across coding boot camps and other educational institutions, combined with over 3 years of professional software engineering and data science expertise, he's driven to help shape the next generation of technologists and creative coders.

## FAQ

### Who is the target audience for this course?

The Data Science Certificate is best suited for: Individuals looking to break into data science with Python, machine learning, data visualization, and SQL skills. Analysts who work with other data tools looking to transition to Python and SQL. Developers looking to broaden their skill set by learning data science and Python.

### Does this certificate include job support?

In addition to 114 hours of interactive training, you will receive eight 1-on-1 mentoring sessions that can be used for career and job support, including polishing your resume, preparing for interviews, and reviewing best practices for applying to jobs. Note, however, that we don’t provide job placement (i.e. reaching out to companies on your behalf).

### How is this certificate structured?

The certificate is composed of four classes that teach you four different but complementary skills: In the Python for Data Science class, you learn Python (the programming language) and how to use it to import, analyze, and visualize data. The Python for Machine Learning class is a second-level Python class that teaches students how to use Python to predict and forecast from data they have previously analyzed using regression and other statistical techniques. In Python for Automation, you learn how to automate everyday tasks using Python and BeautifulSoup. Lastly, as a data scientist, it is imperative that you know SQL in addition to Python. In our SQL Bootcamp , you’ll learn how to work with databases and how to manipulate data in between them. With all of these classes, students will fulfill all the prerequisites needed for an entry-level data scientist position.

### How many students are in a class?

Noble’s typical class ranges from 8–12 students, but we accept up to 20 students.

### How does this certificate prepare me for the job market?

The classes will prepare students with all the skills necessary for an entry-level position in data science. Most entry-level jobs are looking for three core technical skills: Python proficiency, SQL proficiency, and proficiencies in Python data science libraries. All of these skills will be taught throughout the classes in the certificate.

### Why is SQL included in the Data Science Certificate?

SQL is a necessary skill because as a data scientist one must feel comfortable being able to explore a database and how to modify data within it. Our SQL Bootcamp will cover all of the necessary topics a programmer in SQL must know. The class will cover everything from basic database terminology to advanced querying techniques so that you are confident using SQL in your workplace or on your resume.

### Is there mandatory work outside of the classroom?

Students are not required to complete any work outside of class. However, we provide students with bonus materials if they would like extra practice.

### What tangible skills do students leave with after the certificate?

Students will leave with proficiencies in both Python and SQL. Additionally, students will be proficient in various Python libraries such as NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, BeautifulSoup, and scikit-learn. These libraries will allow students to automate data collection, perform analysis on the data, graph the data, and use this data to create predictive models. In the SQL class, students will learn how to explore, modify and export data from a database and students will also be introduced to foundational concepts like tables, data types, and queries.

### What kind of laptop is suitable for completing the work in this course?

Any laptop with the below specifications would be suitable: OS: macOS Sequoia or Windows 11 Model from 2021 onward is preferred RAM: should be at least 16GB 13.6-inch (2560 x 1664) display or larger
