WordPress comes in two flavors. WordPress.com lets you make free websites & blogs, and you don’t need to be a web designer to use it. The WordPress.org version can be installed on your own website, and you can do more with it. Themes control the appearance and layout of the pages and can be customized, but you’ll have to know some HTML/CSS (like we teach in our Dreamweaver Level 1 & 2 training).
If you want to create a blog or simple website without having to be a web designer, WordPress.com will allow you to do that for free! If you can use a computer you can create a website with no prior experience needed.

Of course you can just use it to add a blog too.
