Get Your Portfolio Online (or make a better one)

In this day and age you simply MUST have an online portfolio. If you do not, you are being left behind by the majority of designers and professionals who do. There is really no excuse not to have an online portfolio, and even less excuse to have a bad one. You can have one for free or very little cost.

We’ll show you a few different ways to get your portfolio online:

• Using a portfolio hosting site (free)
• Using a Content Management System like WordPress (free or some charge)
• Building your own site from scratch (hosting is not expensive)

First we’ll show several portfolio hosting sites that make it easy (and free) to get your work online. It’s not as ideal as having your own site, but will do for now. You can still make your work look attractive. Second we’ll show several Content Management Systems (CMS), including WordPress. Using a CMS can be inexpensive and make your portfolio easy to update. Lastly we’ll show a variety of fantastic online portfolios to inspire you, then we’ll show how to get a basic portfolio website started from scratch in Dreamweaver.

By the end of this seminar, you should be inspired to get your portfolio online quickly, or to improve the portfolio you already have!
