This seminar will give you a primer on basic typography rules and strategies for perfect type. We’ll cover print and web, Mac and PC.

— Mixing fonts
— Typography rules and common mistakes
— Spacing, tracking, and kerning
— Hyphenation and line breaks
— Ligatures, swash characters, fractions
— Inserting special characters (copyright symbol, bullets, etc.)
— Picture fonts (such as dingbats)
— Pixel fonts
— HTML text vs. images
— Postscript vs. TrueType vs. OpenType fonts
— Installing fonts on Mac OS X and Windows
— Cross-platform fonts

This seminar is designed for people with some familiarity with graphic design programs.
