This seminar is designed for those who are thinking about a career in print design. We’ll show you which programs to use (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and when to use them.

We’ll demonstrate how to create a basic layout that includes text, pictures, and illustrations. What are the issues you will need to consider when doing this? How should your files be saved? Will your photos need to be in RGB or CMYK format? Should you save as Photoshop (PSD), TIFF, or EPS?

We will cover the printing issues that you need to be aware of: preflighting, collecting images and fonts, and PDF output.

In summary, here is what we’ll cover:

  • When to use InDesign
  • When to use Photoshop
  • When to use Illustrator
  • How to save files properly
  • RGB vs. CMYK vs. other formats
  • TIFF vs. EPS vs. PSD files
  • Preflighting, fonts, and PDF
